Assembly
Installation Recommendations – Design Wrapping
Our assembly recommendations are intended as a non-binding guide.
Some recommendations are illustrative—the color and shape of the parts may vary. However, the basic instructions remain valid.
General information
- Printing is done in high resolution with accurate color reproduction and high detail. Color variations between the digital display and the actual product may occur due to differences in materials and display settings.
- Our films, including the protective laminate specifically designed to work with them, are made from high-quality wrapping materials and have been specially developed for complex 3D plastic surfaces as well as substrates with low surface energy
- They offer high malleability, controllable elongation, and excellent shape memory (memory effect) for safe and reproducible application
- The design of the film contours is intended to ensure that they are as easy, user-friendly, and safe to handle as possible
- Our film sets have been tested multiple times under real-world conditions and have been successfully and consistently applied—even under practical user conditions
- In some cases, depending on the geometry and installation, localized tension may occur. If this cannot be completely resolved, the film sections in these areas can be carefully adjusted or trimmed to achieve the best possible result
- Advantages of protective laminate:
- UV resistance
- Scratch resistance
- Shelf life
- Up to 7 years of durability when used outdoors
- Thanks to air channel technology, air bubbles can be easily brushed out (no needle required)
- These films are not suitable for wet application
- All contours are precisely pre-cut and designed for easy installation
- Safety clearances from component edges and adjacent film parts have been incorporated into the design (~3 mm)
- The material thickness has been selected to ensure optimal ease of handling
- Ideally, installation should be performed by two people, especially when working with larger pieces of film
- Glue large pieces together in stages
- Work calmly and without time pressure
- When laying the film, we recommend wearing dry cloth gloves
- The film features a repositionable adhesive for easier placement during application
- If you're unsure, it's better to start over than to force it, especially if:
- wrinkles cannot be smoothed out completely
- the film is visibly taut
- the position differs significantly
- larger bubbles form that cannot be dispersed
In these cases:
-
- Carefully peel off the film and, if necessary, warm it slightly. The film will return to its original state.
- Let it cool and reposition it
- Reapply the adhesive properly
- Dealing with Heat
- Warm the foil only slightly; do not overheat it
- Guideline: lukewarm (~50 °C)
- Keep the heat gun moving at all times to prevent excessive local temperatures (hot spots)
- Distance: approx. 20–30 cm
- Tools Required
- Felt squeegee
- box cutter
- Hot air dryer, optional hair dryer
1. Prerequisites / Environment
- Application temperature: ideally 18–25 °C (minimum ≥15 °C)
- Clean, dry, dust-free environment
- No direct sunlight during installation
2. Surface preparation
- Thoroughly clean and degrease the surface (e.g., with isopropyl alcohol or a suitable plastic cleaner)
- If using other cleaning agents, test their compatibility with the plastic in an inconspicuous area first
- Then wipe the surface dry with a lint-free cloth and let it dry completely.
3. Positioning
- Place the vinyl parts in position without applying adhesive first and check their alignment
- Memorize position / Set reference points
4. Bonding
- Dry bonding is strongly recommended
- High initial adhesion is achieved after just 20 minutes
- Work from the center outward
- On smooth surfaces, spread the product using a felt squeegee and applying even pressure
- For curved surfaces, smooth with your finger
- Remove air bubbles
- Apply large pieces of film in sections
- If necessary, the film can be carefully lifted and repositioned
5. Installation on highly curved surfaces
- For curves and edges:
- Gently warm the plastic wrap and place it over the food
- This makes the material stretchy and adaptable, and it can be slightly shaped
- Do not overstretch; avoid tension as much as possible
- In case of more severe deformation:
- Let the film relax briefly (memory effect)
6. Adhesive activation (post-heating)
- Full-surface, gentle, and gradual reheating to activate the adhesive, particularly in the following areas:
- Edges
- Indentations
- areas with severe deformation
7. Critical Areas
- Press down the edges and seams especially carefully
- Do not allow excessive heat to build up, as this may damage the plastic surface
- Be especially careful when heating the areas around the camera and display
- If necessary, rework the transitions several times
8. Curing
- Do not use the mower for 24–48 hours
- Temperature >20 °C recommended
- Maximum final adhesion is achieved after 24 hours
9. Remove the film after use
- Gently warm the foil
- Gradually peel off the film at an angle of 60° to 90° between the film and the surface
- Any adhesive residue can be easily removed using an adhesive remover (e.g., isopropyl alcohol)and a cotton cloth (test for compatibility with the surface first)

Level of difficulty
🟣 More challenging
This design requires more work to produce.
Complex geometries, pronounced curves, and precise transitions require careful craftsmanship.
This rating is based on our own experience and was determined from the perspective of an average user. It is intended as a non-binding guide to the effort required for installation.

Fits PERFECTLY. SUPER workmanship. CUTTING RESULT 1A. Almost NOISELESS.
FAQ - frequently asked questions
- Can I use a regular hair dryer for the wrapping?
Yes, a standard hair dryer is usually all you need for this process. It helps the film conform to complex 3D surfaces and makes it easier to apply.
- Does the wrapping affect the sensors or the robot mower's operation?
No, the protective films are designed exclusively for the outer plastic surfaces and, when installed correctly, do not affect the sensors or the operation of the robotic mower.
- Can the wrap be removed?
Yes, the film can be removed if it is applied properly. Depending on how long it has been in use, weather conditions, and the surface it is applied to, some residue may remain, but this can be completely removed by following our instructions.
- Is the wrap weather-resistant?
Yes, our vinyl wraps are designed for long-term outdoor use and feature a high-quality protective laminate that is UV-, water-, and weather-resistant.
- Do air bubbles form during the bonding process?
Thanks to the integrated air channel technology, air bubbles can usually be easily removed. For best results, we recommend applying the product with a felt squeegee.
