Assembly Recommendation – Design Wrapping

Our assembly recommendation serves as a non-binding guide.
Some recommendations are for illustrative purposes only – the color and shape of the parts may vary. However, the basic instructions remain valid.

General Notes

• The print is produced in high resolution with accurate color reproduction and high detail fidelity.Color variations between the digital representation and the actual product may occur due to material and display-related factors
• Our films, including the protective laminate optimally matched to them, are based on high-quality wrapping materials and have been specifically developed for complex 3D plastic surfaces as well as substrates with low surface energy
•  They offer high formability, controllable stretch, and excellent recovery properties (memory effect) for safe and reproducible application
• The design of the film contours is intended to ensure processing that is as simple, user-friendly, and safe as possible
• Our film sets have been tested multiple times under real-world conditions and have been applied successfully and reproducibly – including under practical user conditions
• In individual cases, local tensions may occur depending on the geometry and processing.If these cannot be fully removed, parts of the film in these areas can be carefully adjusted or trimmed again to achieve an optimal result

• Up to 7 years of outdoor durability
• Thanks to air-channel technology, air bubbles can be easily smoothed out (no needle required)
• The films are not suitable for wet application
• All contours are precisely pre-designed and intended for user-friendly application
• Safety clearances from component edges and adjacent film sections are taken into account in the design (~3 mm)
• Material thickness has been selected for optimal ease of handling
• Installation should ideally be carried out by two people, especially for larger film sections
• Apply large sections in stages
• Work calmly and without time pressure
• When applying the film, we recommend wearing dry fabric gloves
• The film has a repositionable adhesive for easier placement during application
• If in doubt, it is better to start again rather than force it, especially if:
  • wrinkles cannot be worked out cleanly
  • the film is visibly under tension
  • the position deviates significantly
  • larger bubbles form that cannot be smoothed out 

In these cases:

• • Carefully peel off the film again and if necessarywarm slightly. The film returns to its original state.
  • Allow to cool and reposition
  • Re-adhere cleanly

• Handling heat

• Only warm the film slightly, do not overheat 
• Guideline: lukewarm by hand (~50 °C) 
• Always keep the hot air gun moving to avoid excessively high local temperatures (hot spots)
• Distance approx. 20–30 cm

• Required tools
  • Felt squeegee
  • Utility knife
  • Hot air gun, hair dryer optional

 1. Requirements / environment

• Processing temperature: ideally 18–25 °C (minimum ≥15 °C) 
• Clean, dry, dust-free environment
• No direct sunlight during application 

2.Surface preparation

• Thoroughly clean and degrease the surface (e.g. with isopropanol or suitable plastic cleaners)
• If using other cleaning agents, first test compatibility with the plastic in an inconspicuous area
•  Then wipe the surface dry with a lint-free cloth and allow it to dry completely.

 3. Positioning

• Pre-position the film pieces dry and check the position
• Mark the position / set reference points 

4.Bonding

• Dry bonding is expressly recommended
• High initial adhesion is achieved after just 20 minutes
• Work from the center outward
• Smooth over smooth surfaces with a felt squeegee and even pressure
• Smooth over curved surfaces with your finger
• Press out air bubbles
• Bond large sections of film in stages 
• If necessary, the film can be carefully lifted and repositioned 

5.Processing on strongly curved surfaces

• For curves and edges: 

• Lightly heat the film and insert it
• This makes the material stretchable and allows it to conform and can be slightly shaped become

• Do not overstretch; avoid tension whenever possible 
• In case of greater deformation: 

• Allow the film to relax briefly (memory effect)

 6. Adhesive activation (post-heating)

• Gentle and even full-surface gradual reheating to activate the adhesive, especially in the following areas:

• Edges 
• Depressions
• heavily deformed areas

7.Critical areas

• Press edges and transitions down particularly carefully 
• Do not build up excessive heat, otherwise the plastic substrate may be damaged
• Heat especially carefully in the areas around the camera and display
• Rework transitions several times if necessary

8. Curing

• Do not use the mower for 24–48 hours
• Temperature >20 °C recommended
• Maximum final adhesion achieved after 24 hours

9. Removing the film after appropriate use

• Gently heat the film
• Gradually peel off the film at an angle of 60° to 90° between the film and the surface
• Any adhesive residue can be easily removed with an adhesive remover (e.g. with isopropanol) and a cotton cloth (test compatibility with the substrate beforehand)
